Putting on a kimono:
Kohlin belt and lapels

After putting on the first koshihimo and straightening the lapels, fold over about an inch (2cm) of the lapels at a point beneath your chest, making sure that the fold is continuous above that point (don't worry about below). Clip the fold on the inside lapel with the kohlin belt. Thread it through the left underarm hole and around back.


 

Clip the outer lapel. Check that the kohlin belt is straight and that it is slightly below your chest.


 

Pull any excess fabric in the back to the sides, and also pull on the kimono beneath the kohlin belt so that no excess is bloused above it.
