How to attach a han eri prior to sewing

Fold your han eri in half lengthwise to determine its center. Line up this center point with the center back seam of your juban. Unfold the width of the han eri - not the edges - and match the fold through the middle with the top of the collar stiffener, as shown in the photo above. If you have a patterned han eri, the more heavily patterned side should be on the exterior of the juban.

Fold the han eri over, center it along the collar stiffener and line up the edges (should come easily if you've ironed it correctly), then pin it on:
